“ We were visiting from out of town and did an overnight in Savannah (not even realizing it was Valentines Day weekend and how packed all the restaurants would be). But, Spanky's came through! It was the one place we walked into and didn't have to wait for 2 hours or need a reservation. We just needed a place to eat before we did a tour and we were already 3 hours early before it. *note to self: call ahead for other establishments and eateries on the most busiest weekends* The food was pretty good in all honesty. I would come back and eat here again and so were the drinks! The layout of the place is nice as well. The staff were friendly and inviting and our waitress was on top of it even when it was busy. Thank you for a great first time eating here! ”
“ The best chicken fingers and spuds in Savannah! Spanky's has a great attentive staff and the atmosphere is inviting and pub like. We like to sit at the bar , where the bartender makes amazing drinks . There are also local beers on draft. The hot honey dip sauce is the best ! You must try it! ”
“ Go to spot to grab in a drink in Savannah. The bartenders are so fun and great company ”
“ Spanky's is your classic sports bar with excellent bar food. The portion sizes are generous, especially the chicken tenders. Recommend splitting a basket of tenders amongst the little ones (and adults for the matter). We were quickly sat at high-top table and were well attended to. Being in the bar area we had plenty of sports and people to watch. We will be back for sure the next time we are in Savannah, but with a bigger appetite! ”
“ We had been walking down River Street and decided to grab a bite. We saw there were people eating inside, usually a good sign when other options are available. We didn't drive, so cannot comment on parking. A hostess seated us at a table by a window. The place is fairly large. We split an appetizer and a small pie. Prefer pickle chips to spears when they're fried but we adapted. A simple hamburger pizza reminded us of a place in Lincoln, NE called Valentino's. The pie was cooked well, unlike what we now get at Val's. It isn't a New York style if that's what you expect. Soda and tea was the only other thing we ordered. Our server was efficient. The drinks came out in good time. The pizza arrived faster than expected. The pickles appetizer arrived after the drinks and before the pizza. All good. ”
“ Love the saloon vibe here. The brick and wood walls are wonderful with a real sense of history. Great for kids! The chicken fingers are as advertised! (A local classic since 1976) The chicken is incredibly tender. I recommend a sprinkle of salt too. The Philly cheesesteak was one of the best I have ever had. The beef was so incredibly tender and flavorful and I love how they finely chop the onion. My daughter ordered a cheese pizza and I can tell they put care into their crust and sauce. Our server was attentive and gave refills which made the kids happy. Highly recommended for something local and amazing, especially if you have kids, but the bar is cool too! ”
“ 5/13/2024 Stopped in for drinks and sat at the bar. Bartender was friendly and knew how to work the bar. I drank the "Birdie" Mary (Blood Mary) the drink was good as was the chicken finger! Wife got a mixed peach drink which she enjoyed and then we finished with a few beers. Nice place. ”
“ I think if you are visiting Savannah you need to put Spankys on the list for a meal. We went at lunch. Food tasted good and we had $4 margaritas which were very good. Even though we had ordered, I heard the waitress telling the guests beside us about their chicken fingers and how they were original to the restaurant. I got some to share with the table. I have to say they are the Best I have had in the United States. Paired with ranch or another home made sauce I thought they were great. I'd go back for those. Located on the water front it's a hole in the wall type place and I had no clue as to what I was walking into. Very glad I did. Cheers to the cook who really seems to have interest in the food he prepares... and our lovely waitress. You were spot on. ”
“ We saw this place walking along the river and my girl was sold instantly on the spuds, plus they claim to be the 'Home of the Original Chicken Finger'. So... we stopped. We only ordered a small box of chicken fingers and spuds to go, so although the place claims to be a saloon and a pizza place, I can't rate the rest of the menu, and I can't rate whether the service was good, bad, or indifferent, but I can tell you that these were probably the best chicken fingers ever. These were just pieces of chicken in whatever shape it wanted to cook up in, no fancy tenders or strips, just malformed lumps of breaded white meat, served with an amazing honey horseradish sauce that carried the perfect levels of sweet and heat. The spuds were probably good too, but Spensyr are those without me. ”
